CONGRATULATIONS!
First of all, I want to say how impressed I am with all of the hard work and creativity everyone put into their projects!! You chose interesting topics that are not only relevant to you individually but also to the rest of the class. From each project (and presentation) we will learn more about what it is to be a global citizen. You've touched on the worlds of business, sports, the environment, history, psychology and the arts. I'm looking forward to seeing how you present your new knowledge in your presentations. If you please, now blog about your experience. Try to put into words what you have learned about yourself and the process of thinking, rethinking and writing, and rewriting. And get a good night's sleep.

Here is a site on CNN that is a blog about the new Pixar movie Wall-E. It shows how blogging is now part of people's everyday lives. Check it out and the movie too!

DON"T FORGET TO E-MAIL YOUR IDEAS FOR YOUR RESEARCH PROJECT
Anytime you have an idea for your research project, please e-mail me so I can think about it also. I'd like everyone to have a general idea of their topic before we have our 2nd library visit on Tuesday.

The Book Presentation Experience
Now that you have had a chance to reflect on your presentation experience, please let us know what you think about the whole book project. Was it a worthwhile project? What did you personally get out of it - from the reading, the group work, the presentation and the written part Would you have chosen the same book? Do you plan on reading the others? Any thoughts you'd like to share? Please write about this project while it is still fresh in your mind and don't forget to visit other classmates' blogs too.
Have a great weekend,
marley

Learning of Evolution and Natural Selection
One of our first units is on the scientific theory of evolution. I will give you a lecture on this fundamental scientific idea that has shaped how western science understands the how all life forms have become to be what they are today. I used this helpful video to be able to understand it better myself. Have a look for yourselves and we will be discussing the roots of this theory and its founder, Charles Darwin. Here is the site for the video:
